Having operated Farm Fresh Butchers in Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork for over two decades, the Twomey family had built up a loyal customer base. Acutely aware of changing consumer demands the family realised that there was a gap in the market for freshly prepared high quality salads and began to sell fresh coleslaw and potato salad from their East Cork premises.

The popularity of their unique products grew rapidly and in 1998 the family launched Farm Fresh Foods as a separate brand. With the local demand for their salads going from strength to strength, the Twomeys decided it was time to expand the business. The Twomey’s set-up a purpose-built production facility on their family farm in the town land of Fahydorgan.

From here, Pat now employs four staff and distributes his products to retailers including a select range of SuperValu and Centra stores. He also supplies fresh salads to the catering trade.
