Brewed in Dundalk, Mo’s Lager is a no-nonsense top-notch tasting, grip & sip you’ve been waiting for. A real clean and smooth 4.2% gluten-free lager with all of that flavour. This wee stubby is the perfect combo of tradition meets tomorrow with a special nod to Mo Chara’s arched brick windows built in 1902 featured in the label shape. This is one you’re gonna want to grab a four pack and sup a few back. But first, to understand the beer, you have to understand the pub it hails from, Mo Chara.
Mo Chara meaning ‘my friend’ in Irish, is a neighbourhood pub based on the concept of friendship and re-creating the Irish public house as a space for the local community. Started by three childhood friends, Cillian, Paul & Vincent in July 2021 – they set out to fulfill a lifelong dream of creating something that would become iconic to Dundalk at 19 Roden Place.
But, what a lot of people don’t know is that before a pub was ever on the cards their initial plan was to start a brewery and launch Mo Chara as a beer brand. Luckily for them, the lads realised they didn’t have a spare couple of million lying around and decided opening a pub first and going about it a different way would stand to them in the long run. After over a year working on this project and now three years in the pub, they feel like this wee stubby is the culmination of everything they had initially dreamed of doing.
